Alliance Jiu Jitsu Tucson Instructor Andrew Gois.
Andre Gois
Head Instructor

André Góis was born on October 8, 1996, in São Paulo, Brazil, and grew up in Cangaíba on the eastern side of the city.

During his childhood, André practiced several sports, with soccer being his favorite. Over time, however, and especially after discovering jiu-jitsu, all other activities gradually took a back seat. Interestingly, it was through soccer that he eventually found his way to jiu-jitsu.

At the age of 15, André broke his arm for the third time while playing soccer. Forced to take a break from the sport, he began spending more time on computer games and became a big fan of EA Sports’ UFC. Through that game, he was introduced to jiu-jitsu and its grapplers. His curiosity about the martial art grew, and once his arm had healed, André decided to join a friend who trained at a local police officers’ club. That decision marked the beginning of his journey in jiu-jitsu.

Ariel Hernandez
Black Belt | Instructor

In 2013 Professor Ariel began his Jiu Jitsu journey beside his family and kids.

From his own words, he tried a class and fell in love with it before he got off the mats the first time. Professor Ariel quickly learned that training Jiu Jitsu was an enormous benefit to not just his physical health, but also his mental health, having dealt with many issues stemming from time in the military and he’s deployments overseas. Professor Ariel, having found himself in a law enforcement career, also found the benefit of learning such a comprehensive form of self-defense to be a bonus. He feels it is helpful to have the additional skills to fall back on, when the tools provided to him through his job are not enough.

Alliance is an amazing place to train BJJ. My wife, son, grand daughter and I started attending in 2018. Thanks to the owners for bringing in top level instructors, our journey in jiu Jitsu has been amazing. Not only has it made our bodies stronger and given us capabilities to defend ourselves., but it also made our minds stronger and this made us a well fortified family. Thank you!

Incredible place to learn and train. The professors and coaches are absolutely fantastic and genuinely care about all students. Probably the best part though is the culture the team has created, everyone is welcome no matter age, skill or athleticism. Definitely worth giving them a try if you are in the Tucson/Vail area!

The instructors at Inverse are nothing short of amazing. My daughter started attending when she was 5 and has stuck with it for over a year. Her skills have improved and she’s grown tremendously off the mat as well, she’s more confident and outgoing. The instructors also teach respect both on and off the mat. The variety fo class schedules at both locations help working parents as well. We love Inverse!
